Ribble 1968, 747EUS, an Albion Lowlander with Alexander body. New in 1962, it was briefly used as a demonstrator until sold to Bamber Bridge Motor Services (no. 6) later the same year. BBMS sold out to Ribble in 1967, the vehicle passing to them until withdrawal about 1975.
Though when new it was described as an LR1 model (Pneumocyclic), it is said that when Ribble owned it, it had become an LR3 (synchromesh). Apparently it was thoroughly disliked by Ribble staff when based - I believe - at Wigan, which may explain why it caught me by surprise departing Skipton Bus Station one rather gloomy day in the Winter of 1970/71.
