Former Newcastle 196, 196JVK, was a Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 with an Alexander H44/34F body, dating from 1961. It is thought to be seen on delivery to Black Prince of Morley from its previous owner, Williamsons of Gauldry, in August 1974.
It was the first rear-engined bus purchased by Black Prince and was soon repainted in their then livery of green and cream. However, its sojourn was to be short-lived and was sold on in April 1975.
