Darlington began to replace its trolleybus system from the early fifties. Among the buses bought were a batch of 1951 Guy Arab III saloons with attractive Roe centre entrance bodywork. 26, PHN699, survives and is still in revenue earning service with Yorkshire Heritage.
Their black and cream livery follows the original livery layout of Darlington and the blue wing mirrors are a reminder of the original colour scheme
