Black Prince, Morley, Leeds number 702, FTF702F, an impeccably restored Leyland Titan PD3/4 with East Lancashire H41/32F body, new to the tiny Ramsbottom UDC fleet in 1967.
The photo was taken on the last day of Black Prince operation, 30th July 2005, as this magnificent vehicle prepared to operate the final Black Prince journey to Morley at 2315 from Vicar Lane, Leeds. The crew consisted of conductor Brian Crowther, founder of the business, and driver David Crowther his engineer son. The bus carried a full load and David's superb driving was a joy to experience, especially on the many hill starts from the stops on steep Churwell Hill, Morley. The feelings of the two fellows must have been a mixture of pride and sadness at the end of this most successful and innovative operation - a reliable and friendly service for the passengers, and a fleet to amaze and delight enthusiasts everywhere.
