Heavy snowfalls are fairly rare in south Essex but tend to cause chaos when they do occur. This is the first of 4 photos showing how Southend Fleetline 367, WJN367J, got into trouble en route to Canewdon and Southend on the 10.
Having negotiated a sharp bend just past the Shepherd & Dog pub, the driver mistook the course of the road and ended up over a snow filled ditch. The heat from the engine then melted the snow and allowed the bus to tilt at a precarious angle.
Recovery was attempted by ST's ever resourceful duty crew but on this occasion they needed professional help! The driver was subsequently disciplined, but only for showing the wrong destination display!
