Ulster Transport Authority UTA D919, MZ7781, was a 1950 built Leyland PD2/1 with UTA L27/26RD body and remained in service until 1968 latterly with Ulsterbus.
UTA used standard Leyland front and rear assemblies for these bodies but in between had their own distinctive six window bay design.
The shot was taken during the last weekend of April 1951 of the UTA buses in their Smithfield depot which was just a large uncovered yard in the Smithfield area of central Belfast.
