Reliance (R Store) NWT496D and Blue Line (Samuel Morgan) DUG167C receiving attention in Armthorpe depot. NWT496D was a Guy Arab V with Roe H41/32F bodywork which was new to Reliance in 1966. It was acquired by SYPTE in 1979 as a withdrawn vehicle.
DUG167C was one of two Leyland PD3A/1s with Roe H41/32RD bodywork which were new to Kippax & District in 1965; when Leeds City Transport took over Kippax in March 1968 these were surplus to their requirements and Blue Line acquired them and got another 11 years service from them before both passed to SYPTE with the demise of Blue Line. Both ran for the PTE and DUG167C (PTE number 1131) was still in use with them as a tow-bus (minus its top deck) into the 1990s. It may still be around somewhere (the only ex-Kippax survivor); I've seen a photo taken in 2008 showing it still as a towing vehicle, albeit in a sorry state, numbered 0001 but without a clear indication of ownership.
