North Western bought fifteen Dennis Loline IIs with East Lancs H39/32F bodies in 1960 numbered 812-826 (RDB 812-826).
The first three (812-814) had Gardner 6LX engines whilst the remainder were relatively unusual in being fitted with Leyland O600 engines. When originally built they had a large route display featuring destination blind, intermediate blind and three-track number blinds but lost this in the mid-sixties for the plainer arrangement seen here.
820 of the batch, RDB820, is seen here at the start of the 1974 Blackpool to Southport run organised by the Ribble Enthusiasts Club. It had recently joined the Aspden's fleet and carried the name "The Love Bug" on the bonnet to the right of the Dennis badge. It looks quite attractive in their unusual livery and the pride in the fleet is shown by the fitting of coach-style wheel trims.
