Midland Red 3863, NHA863, was a BMMO D5B dating from 1951. The B suffix denoted the fitting of platform doors for use on longer distance routes.
This example spent most of its working life at Tamworth Depot and was withdrawn in 1967. This view was kindly been sent by Bernard Warr to illustrate one of Midland Red's workhorses of the 1950s.
