There are currently plans under consultation to redevelop Halifax Bus Station by building a new passenger concourse through the middle of the site roughly along the line of the pedestrian route marked across the middle of the picture effectively creating two separate sets of departure stands and involves the reopening of the second entrance which is currently gated shut.
The existing bus station opened in May 1989 and prior to the opening Metro, the West Yorkshire PTE held an open day allowing the public to see the new facility.
In this picture can be seen West Yorkshire SGL16 JWU886 the West Yorkshire Bristol LL5G/ECW B39R, Leeds 131 HNW131D the Daimler Fleetline/Roe 1966 Commercial Motor Show exhibit, just hidden is 574CNW the Leeds Daimler CVG6 used as an exhibition vehicle by the West Yorkshire Transport Museum, from where the preserved buses came for the day and West Riding Daimler Fleetline/Roe 235 PHL235G.
A couple of modern Abbeyways coaches are on the right and out of sight other stands were occupied by members of the current Metro operational fleet.
This picture was taken from the top of the Huddersfield AEC Mandator tower wagon MVH388 which was a bit of a scary enterprise as that tower wasn't as solid as it looked.
