Not seen in service at Crich since 1976 is Glasgow 1100, a Kilmarnock Bogie car built by Hurst Nelson in 1928 and rebuilt with streamlined ends in 1941.
It was used as a mobile test-bed for various modifications over its service life, including being fitted with Brill bogies, electromagnetic control gear and a pantograph. Just visible on this photograph (top right) is its pair of experimental route colour lights which were not successful and never adopted.
Since its withdrawal from service at Crich, it has been in long-term storage at the NTM's Clay Cross facility and is now in need of restoration.
