Following the picture from Ken Jones regarding car 14 of the Burton & Ashby Light Railway at Statfold Barn Farm, I have posted the photo above of car 14 at work.
Seen here on Gresley Common, Church Gresley sometime in the 1920's. Whether the two local bobbies on the top deck was an indication of trouble ahead, who knows. The trams came in two batches 1-13 and 14-20 with bodies built by Brush at Loughborough.
The two gateposts in the back ground may be the entrance to the Maurice Lea Park which was under construction when the trams ceased in February 1927 and was opened in 1929
