Bedlington & District, Ashington, HAP986 was a Bristol KSW6G built in July 1953 with ECW H32/28R bodywork purchased in July 1969 along with JAP500.

New as Brighton, Hove & District 6448, it became 448 in the renumbering of April 1955, retaining that number on passing to Southdown as withdrawn stock in January 1969.

With only a few bus slides per month, a coincidence in the viewfinder the following month was better-known HAP985 with Silcox at Pembroke Dock, already on SCT61. Like most B&D buses, HAP986 didn't have any the happy ending - after running on local contracts it was withdrawn in June 1972 and passed to Hancock & Turner, Bedlington (dealer) by November, presumably for scrap. I assume they paid more than the local establishment visible in the high definition photo.....
