XDH516G Walsall 116, XDH516G, a Daimler Fleetline with Northern Counties body. Built in 1968, 116 was one of the final batch of buses delivered to Walsall Corporation before the WMPTE take-over. The specially shortened chassis was a feature of all Walsall Fleetlines and the body style was peculiar to Walsall and a small batch built for SHMD.
116 was retained by the PTE and restored (albeit in WMPTE livery) by apprentices at Tyburn Road Works. It was the last former Walsall bus to be withdrawn by the PTE, arriving at Wythall in 1986.

I like this vehicle despite it not appealling to everyone. It is often at rallies in the Midlands and used a few years ago to celebrate the closing of Walsall trolleybus system by following their routes. Behind it is XDH56G also dating from 1968 and utilising the Daimler CRC6-36 Chassis. This vehicle is shown in the non standard livery it carried whilst at Walsall.
