An annual event in Birmingham was during my University days - The Newhall Street Traction Engine Rally held in conjunction with The Birmingham Science Museum - a proper science museum - none of this virtual museum or touch screens. A museum where you could see and learn so much. The Rally expanded over the years to include other road transport. It was held on a Sunday and the vehicles did a procession around the local streets, which were all closed, and back to Newhall Street including the traction engines. Here is a half cab from South Yorkshire fleet number 57, DYG53, a 1940 Albion Valkyrie CX13 with a C33F 1950 Burlingham body fitted in 1957.
I took this because I thought it might be a Somerset registration, and although I had gone to see the traction engines and railway items you can rightly suppose that this is my first picture of a bus / coach at a rally
