Bee-Line West Hartlepool HEF753 made an appearance at the 1960 British Coach Rally at Brighton where it is seen here on Madeira Drive. This was one of eight Plaxton Consort IV C41F bodied coaches new in 1960 to Bee-Line based on a Bedford SB1 chassis modified to the design of their Chief Engineer and referred to by Plaxton as the 'C type'.
This involved moving the steering wheel forward by making the steering column more vertical, redesigning the gear lever operation by means of a linkage and raising the floor level. This 1960 version followed the initial batch of fifteen the previous year and the windscreen had now been raised so that the top and bottom edges were more in line with the side windows than on the earlier ones which had a very deep front dome.
