Seen at the garage in Hamilton was Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 56, EOG215, a Leyland TD6c which was new in 1938 with an M.C.C.W. H28/24R body as Birmingham 215. After severe war damage in 1940 due to enemy action 215, along with eleven others from the same batch, was rebodied with an English Electric H28/26R body intended for Manchester and re-entered service in 1942.
It was acquired by Laurie in February 1953 as number 51 and was renumbered to 56 in 1957 when it was, supposedly, fitted with doors - not evident in this 1959 photograph. Although it passed to Central S.M.T. in October 1961 as HL185 it never carried its new fleet number and passed to Irvine (dealer), Salsburgh in 1962.
