Eastern National 1191, OVW756, seen at Braintree was a Guy Arab III with a Strachan L27/28R which had been new in 1949 as Hicks Brothers 90. With the sale of the Hicks Brothers business to the British Transport Commission in 1950 control was passed to Eastern National and the company operated as a subsidiary until 1955 when Hicks Brothers was wound up and the vehicles transferred to the main fleet. It had been renumbered in 1954 when the Eastern National, Westcliff and Hicks fleets were renumbered into a common series.
