A view of the cab of the former Tailby & George (Blue Bus) of Willington GNU750, a Daimler COG5/40 with Willowbrook C35F body, new in 1939.
This view of the cab clearly shows the right-hand quadrant gear selector for its five-speed gearbox. The fifth gear gave it a reasonable turn of speed once it eventually got there, but with only a Gardner 5LW driving through a fluid transmission it was never going to be a sporty performer. However, compared to a Bristol L5G with the same engine it was streets ahead in the refinement stakes.
