A selection of photos taken by the late George Cropper, posted by an old friend of his, Donald Hudson.
George died suddenly in August 2015, aged 68. A native of Liverpool, he always felt proud of his home city and region. Donald met him at Keele University in the late 1960s where they both did Geography and Economics and had an interest in transport.
Initially George had a job in town planning and worked in the North West, and then briefly in the North East, but things did not work out there as George would have wanted and he moved back to Liverpool and became a civil servant and remained there until retirement in 2013. He never married and his sisters lived some distance away.
George was just beginning to enjoy his retirement and travel a bit more when he died. Sadly, his slide collection had been scrapped a good few years ago and all that remained of George’s collection and interest were the relatively few views that he exchanged with Donald. This gallery is dedicated to his memory and to express gratitude for sharing his views with us and we hope that others are able to enjoy them as well.
