Southend East Lancs bodied Leopard 217, MJN217F, on route 4A, in its original condition with a large illuminated pay on entry sign across the front. These were later removed and replaced by smaller, more conventional, signs.
In the higher resolution photo you can see the the single track that crossed the High Street and then headed off into the military area to the North East where it opens up into an extensive rail network that are still there today.
