Later on the final day of FLF operation at Hadleigh, more “last day” notices were added either side of the destination, claiming 2944, AVW403F, was “The Last Half Cab Bus in Southend” (forgive Richard for distorting history!! – but who would have expected RMs to appear in the town 10 years later?). The shot was taken just into August 2nd, 1981 as 2944 ran into Hadleigh for the final time.
In more recent times the garage entrance has been moved to a safer location on the Victoria House Corner roundabout.
