Seen in the Bus Station in Cannock is Midland Red 4944, 1944HA, which was the second prototype D10 to be built. It had a twin staircase body and was H37/28D when new in April 1961 with the intention of it being front entrance, rear exit.
The experiment was not a success and in November 1962 it was rebuilt to have only a single entrance and staircase and then had 77 seats, one less than the first prototype, due to the position of the emergency exit in the centre of the rear panel.
