The Back End of the Bus

Halifax Nimbus 258, RJX258, so far unrepresented in this Nimbus collection, which is surprising as it probably had the most interesting history of all, despite 250's longevity. 258 had what must be the unique distinction of being owned by Joint Omnibus Committee (Halifax), a municipality (Warrington), an Urban District Council (Ramsbottom) and a PTE (SELNEC and later GMPTE).
It is seen here inside Ramsbottom's garage in April 1970, by then owned by SELNEC. Sorry it's a poor image but it's one of my early attempts at processing and on Instamatic film. It later received orange and white but that livery was still very new - on the way we had stopped quickly to photograph the first Rochdale Regent in orange which we'd seen approaching heading in the opposite direction.
