Originally Eastern National FLF coach 2612, then bus 2944, AVW403F was sold on to Essex County Council in Chelmsford in December 1981, and was then converted to a mobile youth centre for use on the Dengie Peninsula in Essex. Between 1983 and 1988 the bus was driven by volunteers through the lanes of Bradwell, Southminster, St Lawrence and other small villages as The Dengie Jubilee Bus Association.
Paul Harrison stumbled across the bus in storage at the Rock Youth Centre early in 1989, and persuaded the Association to sell it to him for vital spare parts for AVX975G. The Association was wound up, and the assets disposed of - including AVW403F to Paul. He drove the bus from The Rock to Ensign Bus at Purfleet where it was cannibalised for parts - including the much needed transfer box for the semi automatic transmission of AVX. For a couple of years, AVW sat at Ensign and was used by the Ensign Bus blind maker as a "Blind Bus" - as it is seen here in January 1990. Eventually, Ensign's yard started to be cleared, and AVW was sold on to PVS Carlton who had removed it and scrapped it by May 1991. Many parts were removed before scrapping - including the semi-auto gearbox which is now a spare for AVX. In addition, several windows, including the rear upper deck "half" window unique to these FLF coaches were removed and used in the restoration of older coach RWC607.
