Former East Midland D122, WAL122, a Leyland Titan PD3/4 with Weymann Orion L35/32RD body, new in 1957. On the right is former Neath & Cardiff RCY804, an AEC Reliance MU3RV with Weymann Fanfare C41F body, new in 1958, passing to South Wales Transport in 1970 as its 102.
Pictured in the yard of W. North, the dealer, of Sherburn-in-Elmet in 1972. The PD3 was quite an early one and its 30ft lowbridge Orion body something of a rarity. Some would say 'and a good thing too', yet despite preferring bodywork with rather more style, taste and class, I could never help but be fascinated by their ugliness ! On the other hand, many revered the Neath & Cardiff livery as an absolute classic, yet no matter how hard I try to appreciate it I thought it was awful. Sorry.
