Eastbourne Corporation 12, JK8418, a 1939 Leyland 'Lion' LT8 with Leyland B34F bodywork seen in Compton Street outside the old Devonshire Swimming Baths on 13th June 1967. This was fitted with a Leyland 8.6 litre oil engine in 1954 and re-seated from B32F in 1963. One of five delivered just before the outbreak of World War II, the other four were requisitioned by the War Department and never returned though one (15) still survives, re-registered LMG184.
Withdrawn just three months after the picture was taken it was purchased by ten local enthusiasts for preservation and survives today in the care of one of them, Dr Peter Bryden. It performs annually at the Eastbourne Classic Bus Running Day (this year, 2015, July 5th)
