In 1957 Douglas Corporation bought a batch of Guy Otters with rare Mulliner bodywork. 9, WMN485, was withdrawn in 1970 and sold to Gateshead School where it was re-registered UTU596J.
Although bearing a resemblance to similar Guy buses for London Transport, the Douglas vehicles always carried the large destination indicators which earned them the nickname of "Wolsey's camels" after the then general manager at Douglas. The bus is now preserved at the Wythall Transport Museum in Birmingham
