Crosville ML699, RFM444, was a Bristol LD6B with ECW H33/25R body new in October 1954, one of RFM406-63 their large first Lodekka batch. In the major renumbering of May 1958 it became DLB699, serving until sale to a dealer in November 1968.
It was only in stock for a month prior to sale to Smith of Amble, the operator here with Northumbrian coast behind. A well-known source states it was sold for scrap in March 1973.
The coach adjacent appears to be a Bedford SB5 with Duple C41F body, with choice of Smith's ENL908C or almost-new YJR446J. Budding Dr Watsons may wish to reveal full history of the contractor's Bristol on the right of higher resolution with registration starting with "L". My attempt with LMW... failed on discovery of all still serving at Wilts & Dorset. Smith bought one further Lodekka SNN77 three months after the photo.
