Barton 347, EVO711, was one of four Leyland TD5s delivered in 1939 with Duple L27/26F bodies which were the forerunners of the large fleet of Duple bodied Leyland PD1s delivered after the war.
The entrance is set back from the front bulkhead to allow the staircase to be fitted running across the width of the bus and leading to the sunken gangway which went to the rear from the bulkhead. There was a step up to the left to the front seat to give the driver full headroom in his cab. It is seen here at Huntingdon Street Bus Station.
