In view of the recent picture of Bristol Omnibus 2800, NHU2, fully restored to original condition, I thought perhaps a view of it in its unrestored state would show the amount of work involved.
After passing to North's at Sherburn in Elmet it was acquired by David Crowther who at the time was a member of the West Riding Omnibus Preservation Society, and it went for storage in a mill off Bradford Road in Batley Carr with a number of preserved Yorkshire Woollen vehicles. In this picture, the bus has just been removed from the store shed and having had batteries placed on the steps and connected, was fired up and driven to a former kitchen factory in Idle Bradford where David had his other buses stored along with some buses that were destined for the West Yorkshire Transport Museum. David later moved to High Wycombe and formed Classic Coaches but not having the resources to complete NHU2 in 2001 he passed it on to Mike Walker and Martin Curtis of the Bristol Omnibus Vehicle Collection.
