Brutonian Bristol RE 30, OHW596F, (which started life as Bristol 1084) and Shaftesbury and District 7106EL.
On Dorchester Market Day, Brutonian 30 OHW596F and Shaftesbury & District 7106EL are in the Old Fire Station Yard (now Trinity Street Car Park) Dorchester, parked with their doors open so that the punters can dump one load of Xmas shopping, before going off to buy some more. This time honoured practice has now been abolished (with no doubt an effect on loadings) by the good councillors of West Dorset District Council who have now banished the country buses laying over to Top o'Town coach park (well away from the shops and the market).
Still - once the number of passengers decline too much, the services will not need to be subsidised any more because there is little demand for them. I asked a WDDC councillor why they had been moved - his reply was to get the buses out of the way - when I asked out of the way of what, he wasn't able to answer. Rant over!
