Birkenhead were allocated this Guy Arab II with austerity Massey body in 1944 Originally 324, BG8557, in Birkenhead's fleet it was rebodied in 1953 and renumbered as 242 with Massey again providing the H31/28R body. In its new guise it remained in service until 1969, a very creditable 24 years.
Now preserved it has been fully restored since this shot was taken in the mid 1990s.
