Chaldon Herring is a small village in Dorset near to Lulworth Cove. On holiday there I was surprised to come across this. JLJ403 was a Leyland Tiger PS2/1 with Burlingham FC32F body that was rapidly modified to FC31F and entered service as Bournemouth 46 on 22 August 1949. In August 1959 it was converted for one-man operation and fitted with seats from withdrawn trolleybuses to give a revised capacity of 35.
From discussions with those around it the bus it appears it was taking part in the filming of a Rosamund Pilcher story, but we're not likely to see the finished product as it was a German film crew! I don't believe the phone box or bus stop remained after the filming had finished.
