On 1st July one time Brighton, Hove & District 1940 K5G CAP211 (6356) left for a new life with Kirsty & Ashley Blackman (trading as The Revivist) of York, who have acquired it for restoration.
This certainly won't be a quick job - most of the upper deck floor is missing, for example - but much of the basic body framework still appears remarkably sound.

CAP was converted by BH&D for Thames Valley prior to entering service with them in 1957, running with 3 others for a couple of seasons on a Reading to Maidenhead riverside route which was later extended to Windsor. In 1960 it passed to Red & White as a tree lopper with whom it is recorded as remaining until 1968. It was on the preservation scene in the early 1970s, being at the Dart Valley Railway in 1970 when we visited. It moved to Winkleigh in the 1980s but later fell off the radar and somehow ended up in Collier Row (Romford) where it's thought to have been for about 30 years.
