Bradford bought a batch of Alexander bodied Leyland Atlanteans to dual door layout in 1971 to complete the trolleybus replacement which occured the following year. One such 453, SKY453J, was sold to Hull along with several others after withdrawal by West Yorks PTE.
453 retained its fleet number in the Hull fleet and was used as a shuttle for the North Sea Ferry sevice to Hull docks
