WYPTE (Calderdale District) 2213, 6213KW, an AEC Regent V 2D3RA with Metro-Cammell H40/32F, new to Bradford C.T. in 1964 as 213.
In October 1975 a pair of former BCT Regent V's (2209 & 2213) were transferred to Metro Calderdale in Halifax - still in their original blue and cream livery which they retained until withdrawal. They were used mostly on local services and 2213 is seen here almost exactly 40 years ago at the 9 Raw Lane terminus, posed with its conductor whilst its enthusiast driver takes the photo prior to returning to town. Whilst 2209 continued to entertain the Halifax population with its strident transmission and booming exhaust until the following April, sadly 2213 came to grief only a couple of weeks or so after this photo was taken, skidding on black ice in Holmfield Road as it was returning from Bradshaw and took the double bend over the former GNR Queensbury Line bridge and embedding itself in a wall.
