Birmingham City Transport bought huge numbers of new buses in the early post war years. 2489, JOJ489, is a 1950 Crossley DD42/7 with Crossley bodywork to Birmingham's standard design.
The "new look" front was designed by Crossley and later adopted by other builders especially Daimler.
