Seen at Elgin is Alexander Northern, Aberdeen NRB161, DWG917, a Leyland PD2/12 with an Alexander L27/26R body.
It had been new as Alexander RB161 in June 1953 and became Alexander Northern NRB161 in May 1961, although the 'N' prefix was not applied to the vehicle until 1962. During 1973 it was on loan to Central S.M.T. and then to Highland from September 1973, being returned to Alexander Northern in April 1974. It was withdrawn in 1974 and passed to Pettie, Edinburgh, for preservation, in October 1974 and then to Hoare, Chepstow for continued preservation.
